Stay Lit at Perspective

  Disclaimer: To people who believe that Mahabharat was a myth, for them my anecdote is mythical. To people like me, who believe in the existence of Shri Krishna, my anecdote is historical. Historically (mythically), the stories of past tell us that there are two types of blind. One by birth. Those who did not have a choice except being born blind, to have seen nothing in the world, Seeing it through other people’s narration and tales. The one who in Mahabharata was King Dhritarashtra. The other blind is the blind by choice. Those who are so adamant in their choices, perspectives, theories, decisions and other things that they do not know what is happening around. People who have the entire world at their blind spot. People who are so focused on thrusting their decisions that cannot see the impact of it on the lives of other people, themselves and the society at large.  Asian parents are built different. The entire planet at a corner and Asian parents at another corner. No one can beat them in their approach to leave an impression in the lives of their children. While some movies portray this characteristic as over-controlling, Asian films would call it bare minimum emotions. Why not? After all, the directors of these movies too have Asian parents. It has not been on my lot till date to know how parents around the world are. But, I know how Indian parents are-  Protective ? ✗ Super-Protective Dramatic? ✗ They can leave you feel guilty for their mistakes. Intelligent ✗ Have this seventh sense with which they can predict things and their words manifest before your prayers can! Planners? ✗ They have your retirement scheme planned before your graduation.  There is nothing that is called an early success. You have to begin early working on it. I have often contemplated over the last few months during my early 24s how I have not yet achieved anything in my music or writing career. And then look at these motivating and inspiring stars like Durjoy Dutta and Armaan Malik. They are already doing things they want. Earning from their passion and most importantly fulfilling the dreams of their parents and buying them everything they deserve. How astonishing! How focused them must have been right from the beginning. And here I am boiling milk in a bartan  and hoping that a miracle would do some kirtan!
