10 Negative BUT Important Vices for Life: Being Mean

Image
I can say, it has been ages since I was sitting inside a classroom and within a lesson our teacher suddenly shifted his focus to an out-of-syllabus question. He asked, " Do you know the importance of knowing a common language ?" The classroom waited in awe and wonder. He kept strolling from one end of the classroom to the other end: from the backbencher wall to the front-bencher blackboard. After three or four such rounds he said, " it brings an instant connection between two people ". Then, he expanded his theory by giving an example and saying " most of you sitting  here , have their mother tongue Bengali, right? All of you are classmates. But then... " he pointed out to six boys sitting in the fourth and fifth benches from the back, "... you six are friends, you have made a small group of yours because you identify your family background as the ones who speak in Hindi. "  Mind you, sir was not being racist or a communist here. He was just br...

Growing Up demands more Patience, Communication, Strength and Self-Belief

Growing up didn't bring Solitude, Pain, Anxiety and Suffocation along. I repeat.    Growing up didn't bring Solitude, Pain, Anxiety and Suffocation along. All it is, t hat we forgot to see, that growing up demanded more sincerity and patience. All your personal problems, career problems demand a better understanding and attention. It is only asking you to shift your attention, shift your perspective to building up solutions.  You will feel trapped physically when you are mentally stuck into an emotion. You need to free yourself from that. Growing up means growing your strength. You will feel entangled into your environment when you feel stuck into your life's situation. You need to build your path yourself. Growing up demands growing more your self dependence. You will fe...

Unnecessarily Glorified Solitude

People have unnecessarily glorified solitude without knowing how scary it is.  I mean standing up for them is beautiful. Standing up for someone, with them, by their side is peaceful.  Yes, you want to be alone. You don't want an accountability partner. You want no one to know you. And yet, them saying "I am here for you" is bigger than any promise ever made. It is more special than any vow anyone swoon before.  It is like SRK singing,  "...Chaahe jo tumhe, pure dil se Milta hai woh mushkil se, Aisa jo koi kahin hai, Bas wohi sab se haseen hai..." Yes, you are broken.  Having less to speak with is all that you wish for. But, know who to leave behind and whom not to. Not every soul deserves to suffer through you collateral damage.
