10 Negative but Important Vices of Life: Giving Up

Image
Perseverance is the cradle of hope, destiny, and fate. Said no one. I am the first to put it like this! Waah, waah… waah, waah. We have been taught from Day 1 of our conscious lives that “ lage raho Munna Bhai ” is how you achieve your ambitions and dreams. The intent of: I would keep going and achieve things, now or tomorrow, tomorrow or day after tomorrow . If you keep going, success is sure to be found. And somehow it is applicable to everything. Whether it is cracking an exam or pursuing your lover (unless you are turned down, of course). People who are focused, ambitious, and know what they want; People who are eager to work in the direction are more likely to find their desired destination sooner or later. It’s just like the Hindi proverb: Bhagwan key ghar, Der hai, Andher nahi. Fine. But, what if the coin of perseverance fell into your lap with the flipside of giving up? Everything has a flipside, right? Even Yin has Yan. Black has white, Roses have thorns. Most people kn...

It's An Indian Parent Thing- I don't Know This, You Should not Know This As Well

Asian parents are built different. The entire planet at a corner and Asian parents at another corner. No one can beat them in their approach to leave an impression in the lives of their children. While some movies portray this characteristic as over-controlling, Asian films would call it bare minimum emotions. Why not? After all, the directors of these movies too have Asian parents. It has not been on my lot till date to know how parents around the world are. But, I know how Indian parents are-  Protective ? ✗ Super-Protective Dramatic? ✗ They can leave you feel guilty for their mistakes. Intelligent ✗ Have this seventh sense with which they can predict things and their words manifest before your prayers can! Planners? ✗ They have your retirement scheme planned before your graduation. However, one thing that I would like to ask Indian parents (those who are to become and those whose children are in their academic peak) is: When are you going to learn about...

Delays Demand more Patience

Defeat is not death. Delay is not denial.  Gone are the days when a king had to run for his life after losing the battle. Life these days do not rely on one such decisive battles. There are regular such nuances, regular such fights, regular such battles. A defeat is but a one more chance to redo all that you have done with lesser mistakes and probably more efficiency. When you do not win, it simply suggest a lack of effort, or maybe someone else did that better than you. But that doesn’t take away the chance of another trial. Does it? If you want something strongly enough, you would try that as many times as Time demands. Letting it go is not a choice when your desire is a burning desire. A defeat is rather a chance to reconsider all your assets- your skills, your knowledge, your strategy. Use them full. Sharpen your weapons and commence again from the beginning. Has not video-games made us habituated with this! A life lost is but a matter of fact till the heart revives ag...
